I’m so addicted to watching k-dramas!!!

Over the weekend I just completed watching Lovers (SBS, 2006). It was beautifully filmed, and the acting was awesome! Kim Jung Eun as Yoon Mi Joo and Lee Seo Jin as Ha Kang Jae is perfect!!! Can’t believe that the 2 are officially a couple now! ) And wow, their kisses in episode 15, 18 and 20 were memorable, especially the one in episode 18- 19. What a kiss! D And LSJ is such a hotie now! Hehe. The last I saw him was in Her House and Since We Met, his acting was okay for a supporting cast, but not striking. I admit, I took no effort to remember his name because of his nerdy look. He had flat unstyled hair then and was very pale, as compared to his spiky hair and tanned body in Lovers. As can be seen from the number of exclamation marks I have used, I’m totally going ga-ga over him! Apparently, he has acted in other highly acclaimed drama series before Lovers, like Damo, Phoenix and Freeze. Hope to get my hands on them! ) – Bitten by the LSJ bug!

I was planning on rewatching Lovers again, but decided to try watching Love Story in Harvard (SBS, 2004). I’ve heard rave reviews for it, but was put off after watching the first episode many years ago by the lousy English! And the male lead isn’t that much of an eye-candy! Hehe… But since I’ve too much time on my hands, I have started on episode 2, will just have to bare with the horrible English…

Outsize = Outside
05.28.07

With rising affluence and better nutrition, children and adults today are getting larger and larger. Yet majority of the fashion industry still do not take the outsize market seriously, perferring to see their designs on thinner frames – which they deem to be the perfect ‘norm’. This is frequently reinterated during fashion shows, where models are stick-thin.

There is a distinct difference between the ‘average women’ and the ‘average women designers create for’. And it is extremely annoying that yours truely doesn’t fall into the category of ‘average women designers create for’! With onging summer sales, I could only stare and window shop as others stock up their wardrobes. And I hate the feeling!

Plus sizes, talls and petites can be beautiful too! It is how one perceive it to be. Why can’t designers, and fashion players cater their clothes and shoes to make them a little bigger, longer, so that I can fit into them? Argh…..

*Here, I take outsize to refer to plus sizes, talls and petites.

Be Strong Geum Soon
05.23.07

Synopsis

This is a story of a young widow, Geum-Soon, who never becomes discouraged or blames other people – no matter what happens in her life. The viewers will get both hope and comfort by watching her do her best in everything she does.

It is also a story of a family who loves and takes care of each other. You can always turn to your family and their love gives you the hope to get through the tough times. Sometimes, they seem to make your life more difficult, but they will always stand up for you and love you whatever you do.

From: DramaWiki

Total no. of episodes: 163 (30mins each episode)

Time taken to complete: 6days

Average no. of episode watched per day: 27 )

I only became addicted to show halfway through. I thought Geum Soon was very irritating at the beginning and whinny. But her persistence for hair styling, her love for her son, Hui Seong, and they love between her and her in-laws.

Han Hye Jin’s acting is awesome as Geum Soon, she is practically Geum Soon! Kang Ji Hwan’s Jae-Hee was good too, but somehow or rather, I don’t think the chemistry between the 2 leads, Geum Soon and Jae-Hee wasn’t very good. Hehe… I think in they only kissed thrice (hehe)!

It is a true heart touching story with family ties and love story. But I dislike the fact that it was so long, and draggy (considering that it had 163 episodes).

My favorite pictures..

CRASH!!!

Geum Soon and cute Hui Seong

Jae-Hee The Dancing King!!!

Finally Happily Ever After…

Keeping Faith
05.20.07

As Mum was driving me home from church yesterday, I asked her when was Dan’s wedding date (for the church and the dinner). I got a shock when she told that D had left the church… Audrey, his fiancee, belongs to another denomination, so apparently he went to join hers.

I felt betrayed. Utterly betrayed by him. How could he have done so? His weak faith in what we had believe in. Considering that he (like me), was born in the faith… the church is losing its appeal to the young generation for its rigidness. Yet at the same time, during easter we saw a whole bunch of new converts getting batism. Ironic.
